Day 1:
Welcome to Buenos Aires, the capital and largest city of Argentina. Buenos Aires combines faded European grandeur with Latin passion. Sexy and alive, this beautiful city gets under your skin. Today is arrival day, an opportunity to settle into the tour hotel, meet the GGArmy staff team and fellow tour participants. A casual evening walk and dinner will be organised for those wishing to blow out the jetlag cobwebs.

Day 2:
In the morning attend the official tour briefing before enjoying an afternoon walking city tour (3 hours) which is a great way to meet fellow guests and enjoy exploring the many wonders of inner city Buenos Aires. In the evening there will be a transfer service to Estadio Monumental for those guests holding tickets to the opening match Argentina v Chile.

Day 3:
Today we are on the move to Cordoba by early morning air transfer. Cordoba is the second largest city in Argentina, is a fascinating mix of old and new. Where else will you find DJs spinning electro-tango in crowded student bars next to 17th-century Jesuit ruins? It is also home to the Socceroos opening Copa America fixture. After settling into our hotel the group transfers to our pre-match event (entertainment, food and alcohol) and then onto the match Australia v Uruguay at Estadio Mario Alberto Kempes.

Day 4:
After a morning rest enjoy an afternoon Cordoba Colonial walking tour (3 hours) taking in the Jesuit Block and Estamcias, missions established by Spanish Jesuits, which is one of the best preserved architectural sites in Argentina.

Day 5:
Today Optional Tour Excursions (taking in the fabulous Cordoba province famous for landscapes to die for) will be operated allowing tour participants to choose what they would like to participate in or you can stay back in Cordoba and enjoy exploring the metropolis at you own pace in your own time.

Day 6:
Today we air transfer from Cordoba to Buenos Aires and settle into our tour hotel and enjoy a free evening to explore or have that mouth-watering Argentinian steak dinner that is no doubt high on the priority list whilst on tour.

Day 7:
After a free morning we enjoy a fantastic pre-match meal, enjoying the build up at our pre-match event (entertainment, food & alcohol) prior to transferring to Estadio Ciudad de la Plata for Paraguay v Australia.

Day 8-10:
Tour participants get to choose one of 3 excursion options for these days/nights. If you choose to travel to Mendoza or San Carlos de Bariloche the air service associated with this program is an additional fee. Various day tour offerings for each location will be included in the GGArmy day tour portal which will be released on 31st March.
Option 1: Buenos Aires
Take the opportunity to spend three days and nights in Argentina’s capital and enjoy steak, wine, ice cream, art, architecture, nightlife and the tango! This might a great time to immerse yourself in the Queen of the Plate, Paris of the south and also a historic European outpost with a contemporary Latin American heartbeat. Enjoy French and Italianate buildings, graceful plazas and cultural life the envy of most Old World cities.
You can also catch the match Argentina v Paraguay at Estadio Monumental.
Option 2: Mendoza
Mendoza is synonymous with wine, and this is the place to base yourself if you’re up for touring the vineyards, taking a few dozen bottles home or just looking for a good vintage to accompany the evening’s pizza. The city’s wide range of tour operators also makes it a great place to organize rafting, skiing and other adventures in the nearby Andes.

Option 3: San Carlos de Bariloche
Winter wonderland Bariloche is located in the northern end of Patagonia. The soaring peaks of Cerros Catedral, López, Nireco and Shaihuenque ring the town, giving picture-postcard views in every direction. These mountains aren’t just for gazing, though – excellent snow coverage makes this a winter wonderland, and a magnet for skiers and snowboarders.

Day 11:
Tour guests from Mendoza and Bariloche return by air transfer to Buenos Aires.

Day 12:
After a free morning we enjoy a fantastic pre-match meal, enjoying the build up at our pre-match event (entertainment, food & alcohol) prior to transferring to Estadio Ciudad de la Plata for Australia v Bolivia.

Day 13:
Today the entire group leaves Buenos Aires for two nights in the Amazon forest to explore and observe Iguazu Falls. A morning air transfer will see us settled into our hotel by mid-afternoon. The afternoon will be spent exploring the sub-tropical Iguazu rainforest home to hundreds of species of flora and fauna.

Day 14:
Today we immerse ourselves in one of the planet’s most awe-inspiring sights, the Iguazú Falls. A visit is a jaw-dropping, visceral experience, and the power and noise of the cascades, a chain of hundreds of waterfalls nearly 3km in extension, will live forever in the memory.

Day 15:
Today the group air transfers back to Buenos Aires.

Day 16:
After a free morning we enjoy a fantastic pre-match meal, enjoying the build up at our pre-match event (entertainment, food & alcohol) prior to transferring to Estadio Monumental for Australia v Argentina.

Day 17:
Today we take the short ferry ride to Colonia del Sacramento in Uruguay. Colonia is an irresistibly picturesque town enshrined as a Unesco World Heritage site. Its Barrio Histórico, an irregular colonial-era nucleus of narrow cobbled streets, occupies a small peninsula jutting into the river. Pretty rows of sycamores on the riverfront is a venue for spectacular sunsets (it’s a Uruguayan custom to applaud the setting sun).
After a morning and early afternoon exploring Colonia we board our luxury coach for the 2.5 hour transfer to Montevideo, Uruguay.

Day 18:
In the morning we enjoy a 3 hour walking tour of the historic centre of Montevideo. After lunch we will visit Estadio Centenario and it’s highly regarded Uruguay Football Museum. This stadium is etched in Socceroo history and we will immerse ourselves in the history of Uruguayan football culture.

Day 19:
Today we travel to Cordoba by ferry and air transfer.

Day 20:
After a morning of free time the group transfers to our pre-match event (entertainment, food and alcohol) and then onto the match Chile v Australia at Estadio Mario Alberto Kempes.

Day 21:
For our group phase tour participants this is unfortunately the end of the tour.
