The Green & Gold Army is returning to Japan to support the Socceroos in their crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualification match vs Japan. The Blue Samurai are the Socceroos fiercest rival. There is nothing like supporting the Socceroos in Tokyo’s Saitama Stadium away terrace. After an epic 2022 FIFA World Cup Round of 16 result, the Socceroos will travel to Tokyo full of confidence and looking to secure a historic sixth straight FIFA World Cup Finals qualification.
We are excited to be returning to Tokyo, a city the GGArmy knows well after conducting 3 previous tour programs. We have 2 packages available, a land only 6 day/5 night program or an economy airfare flight-inclusive 7 day/6 night program.

Guests who have travelled with GGA previously enjoy a Loyalty Discount of $150 for bookings by 6 August and $75 for bookings after 6 August.
Solo Traveller Match Program: we’ll match you with a person of similar age and gender to room share to keep the price down. Twin share pricing applies. 25% of our travellers did this for 2022 Qatar and 2019 France and it was a highly successful program. You can select this option during the booking process.

Macro Itinerary
The tour itinerary has been designed to seamlessly blend football, culture, tourism highlights and social activities. We understand football is the primary reason you are on tour and plenty of time has been scheduled for you to explore Tokyo under your own steam or take some time out.
Friday 11th October: Guest Arrivals & Welcome Dinner
The GGArmy Group flight arrives in Tokyo (HND) at 20:15. Guests transfer to our Tokyo hotel and immediately check in and then enjoy some sleep/rest after the long air journey.

Saturday 12th October: Tour Briefing, Shinjuku Backstreet Walking Tour & Welcome Dinner
After a free morning to sleep in you will meet at 12:00 for the official tour briefing. This is followed at 12:30 with a guided Shinjuku Backstreet Walking tour. We will unearth and explore Shinjuku’s neighbourhood secrets and visit Yoyogi Park, an oasis in the middle of downtown Tokyo. At 18:30 the tour group will walk together to our welcome dinner venue and enjoy a traditional Kaiseki dinner (includes alcohol and special guests)

Sunday 13th October: Day Tour Asakusa, Sensoji & Tempura Lunch
From 10:00 you will enjoy a guided walking tour of the Asakusa & Sensoji Temple. This old part of Tokyo still has the atmosphere one would have experienced in Tokyo a few centuries ago. At the center is Senso-ji Temple, a magnificent place of worship where the incense will fill you with unforgettable memories and temple blessings will predict your future. We will also enjoy a traditional Tempura lunch. The evening is free.

Monday 14th October: Day Tour Contrasts of Tokyo & Gonpachi
From 10:00 we travel to the famous Meiji Jingu, a shrine dedicated to the deified spirit of Emperor Meiji and one of the most popular shrines in Japan. We also visit Harajuku and the famous Takeshita dori (Cat Street). Lunch will be at Gonpachi (Japanse Tapas), a venue that was home to the infamous crazy fight scene in Taratino’s blockbuster movie Kill Bill. The evening is free.

Tuesday 15th October: Matchday – Japan v Australia
You will enjoy a free morning. At 14:00 we walk to the GGArmy pre-match party (inclusive of alcohol, gourmet food & entertainment). At 17:30 we transfer by train to Saitama Stadium for the Socceroos clash with Japan (Blue Samurai), anticipated kick off 20:00.

Wednesday 16th October: Check Out or Free Day
If you purchased the Land Only 6 Day/5 Night Package, you will need to check out of the hotel at 11:00.
If you purchased the 7 Day/6 night economy airfare flight-inclusive package you have the option of a free day or join other guests on our Hakone Day Tour (additional purchase). Hakone is the the gateway to Mt Fuji. In Hakone, you will ride the world’s second longest cable car up Mt Owakudani, passing over sulphureous fumes, hot springs and hot rivers in this volcanic area. Throughout the day you might get a glimpse of Mt Fuji, and we take a boat ride on Hakone lake and enjoy another fantastic Japanese lunch.

Thursday 17th October: Check Out, Airport Transfer and Return Flight
Our Tokyo adventure is over. We rise early and transfer to Tokyo (HND) airport to catch our return flight. Flight departure is 08:35.
