On this 9-day football and tourism experience you will attend all 3 of Australia’s group matches Chinese Taipei (3^rd February), Thailand (6^th February) & China (9^th February). Wuhan is the political, economic, financial, commercial, cultural and educational centre of Central China. Wuhan is a major transportation hub, with dozens of railways, roads and expressways passing through the city and connecting to other major regions. Because of its key role in domestic transportation, Wuhan is sometimes referred to as “the Chicago of China”. The “Golden Waterway” of the Yangtze River and its largest tributary, the Han River, traverse the urban area and divides Wuhan into the three districts of Wuchang, Hankou and Hanyang. The Wuhan Yangtze River Bridge crosses the Yangtze in the city. The Three Gorges Dam, the world’s largest power station in terms of installed capacity, is located nearby.

The Shangri-La Hotel Wuhan is a well appointed 5-Star property with all the trimmings, business centre, broadband internet, well equipped gymnasium, multiple restaurants and 24 hour concierge and support services.

Note that our packages are structured to satisfy guest requirements. This means that there are items relevant to the tour that are not included in the packages listed above and will be an additional cost. We have listed them below so you can understand them prior to booking on our tour.

Group International Flights
International Flights are not included in the package price and are an additional cost. The GGArmy does provide an FIT group international flight and arrival/departure transfer service which can be added to your selected package. Contact us if you are interested.

Match Tickets

At the time of publishing our tour the price for match tickets was not available. We will secure match tickets for all people on our tour and participants will be billed for these at cost only once the tickets become available. We purchase a group allocation so all tour participants can sit together. We anticipate the ticket prices to be very affordable. We also accommodate players families who will have access to tickets via their relative. We coordinate tickets to ensure our group sits together.

China eVisa

Australian citizens are required to secure a Visa to enter China. Guests are responsible for obtaining a eVisa to enter China. To obtain an eVisa guests will be supplied with an invitation letter by the GGArmy which is needed in the application process. The GGArmy will supply invitation letters once bookings have been completed.

Itinerary overviews are set out below, which detail the various activities we will be experiencing and matches we will be attending. #GoMatildas !

Day 1: Sunday 2^nd February: Guests arrive into Wuhan International airport and transfer to settle in at the tour hotel. In the evening informally meeting fellow tour participants & guides at our Welcome Drinks.

Day 2: Monday 3^rd February: Match Day. In the morning we enjoy Wuhan city tour visiting all the tourism sites (Guiyuan Temple, Milefo, Hall of Arhats & Yellow Crane Tower). We then transfer to our riverside restaurant for our pre-match luncheon event before we transfer to Five Rings Sports Centre Stadium in time for the 16:00 kick off of Australia v Chinese Taipei match.

Day 3: Tuesday 4th February. Tour Activity Jingzhou. A fantastic day visiting historic Jingzhou, capital of the Chu kingdom 689-278BC. We are on and off the fast train and immersed in ancient Chinese history. Tonight you will overnight in the city of Yichang (our only night away from Wuhan).

Day 4: Wednesday 5th February. Tour Activity Yangtze river cruise, Three Gorges Dam and Xiling Gorge tour includes lunch. Return to Wuhan by bullet train at the end of the cruise where we return to the Shangri-La Hotel Wuhan.

Day 5: Thursday 6^th February. Match Day. Enjoy a free morning before we transfer to our riverside restaurant for our pre-match luncheon event before we transfer to Five Rings Sports Centre Stadium in time for the 16:00 kick off of Thailand v Australia match.

Day 6: Friday 7^th February. Free morning. In the afternoon we visit the Hubei Provincial Museum and later enjoy a Donghu Lake Boat Trip.

Day 7: Saturday 8^th February. Rest Day. In the afternoon we visit Matildas training (subject to FFA approval).

Day 8: Sunday 9^th February. Match Day. Enjoy a free morning before in the late afternoon we transfer to our riverside restaurant for our pre-match dinner event before we transfer to Five Rings Sports Centre Stadium in time for the 19:30 kick off of China v Australia match.

Day 9: Monday 10^th February. Matildas China Tour ends.
