Caitlin Foord got an assist as Arsenal won 4-1 over Emily Gielnik’s Aston Villa in the English Women’s Super League on Sunday.
Foord nipped in and stole the ball, before running into the box and squaring for Jordan Nobbs to score Arsenal’s fourth goal.
Steph Catley bombed on forward down the left flank and whipped in a dangerous ball that led to Katie McCabe’s goal that made it 3-1.
Catley put in a full shift while Foord started and 86 minutes. Emily Gielnik was a 66th minute substitute for Villa.
Sam Kerr started on the bench and got introduced in the 70th minute as league-leading Chelsea won 3-2 over Reading.
Kerr had played a full game in midweek as Chelsea drew 1-1 with Real Madrid in the Women’s UEFA Champions League.
Mary Fowler and Alanna Kennedy remained on the bench while Hayley Raso was an 85th minute substitute as Manchester City drew 1-1 with Manchester United.
Mackenzie Arnold put in a full shift and kept a clean sheet as West Ham United triumphed 2-0 at Tottenham.
Returning to the Champions League in midweek, Catley and Foord both started in Arsenal’s 1-0 win over Joe Montemurro’s Juventus.
Teagan Micah started but was replaced on the hour as Rosengard lost 3-1 to Benfica following a nasty collision where she took a knock to the face.
