Socceroos defender Jordan Bos netted his maiden goal for Belgian club Westerlo in a 3-1 home defeat to Anderlecht on Saturday, while Jackson Irvine and Awer Mabil were also among the scorers.

Bos scored a late consolation goal for Westerlo in their loss to Anderlecht, rose high to head home Griffin Yow’s back-post cross in the 90th minute.

The full-back has played 11 Belgian Pro League games this term, including nine starts since his move from Melbourne City. He missed six weeks in August and September due to appendicitis.

However, Bos’ club Westerlo have since sacked their manager Jonas De Roeck.

Elsewhere, Aiden O’Neill put in a full shift as Standard Liege lost 2-0 at Club Brugge on Sunday.

In the Swiss Super League, Awer Mabil took his tally to four goals for Grasshoppers with a strike in their 5-0 win over Lausanne on Saturday.

Mabil, whose cross almost led to the opening goal, scored his side’s fourth goal in the 65th minute with a low right-foot first-time strike after a deflected cross. He celebrated with a comical snowfight with teammates.

The Socceroo also got an assist for Tsiy William Ndenge’s goal with a soft lay-off on the edge of the box in the 57th minute. Mabil started and played 70 minutes.

Jackson Irvine opened the scoring on Friday night in the Hamburger derby with a fine right-foot volley but St Pauli fluffed a two-goal lead to draw 2-2 with Hamburg SV.

Irvine struck with a 15th-minute volley from Marcel Hartel’s corner, before a laughable own goal doubled their advantage.

Irvine and Connor Metcalfe both started, with the latter replaced after 86 minutes. Irvine put in a full shift. St Pauli remain top of Germany’s 2.Bundesliga.

Alessandro Circati put in a full shift as Parma scored late to clinch a 1-0 win at Spezia on Saturday to remain top of the Italian Serie B.
