Mitch Duke netted his first goal for his new Japanese club Machida Zelvia as they defeated Fujieda 1-0 in the Japanese J2 League on Sunday.

Duke lashed in a loose ball in the fifth minute after the Fujieda goalkeeper failed to claim a cross into the box.

The striker, who had provided three assists in Machida’s past two games, was replaced in the 71st minute.

Harry Souttar played a full game as Leicester City’s relegation concerns worsened with a 2-1 loss at Crystal Palace in the English Prmeier League on Saturday.

Souttar, who was booked for holding, only earned a 3/10 rating from Leicestershire Live, who wrote: “Whether he was tired after the long trip to Australia, or whether he was still suffering with an ankle problem, this was a shoddy performance from Souttar.

“He was booked for a piece of weak defending, was lucky not to concede a penalty, and then let Mateta spin him for the last-minute winner.”

On Sunday, with the Foxes sitting in the relegation zone in 19th, the club sacked manager Brendan Rodgers.

Tyrese Francois was on the bench for Fulham on Saturday as they lost 2-1 at Bournemouth.

Cristian Volpato was an unused substitute in AS Roma’s 3-0 win over Sampdoria in Italy’s Serie A on Sunday.

Ajdin Hrustic was still out injured as Hellas Verona lost 1-0 at Juventus on Saturday.

Jackson Irvine and Connor Metcalfe continued their winning ways with St Pauli as they edged Regensburg 1-0 in the German 2.Bundesliga.

Irvine played the full game while Metcalfe got through an hour as St Pauli made it nine straight wins to sit fourth in the race for promotion.

Denis Genreau was a 68th minute substitute in Toulouse’s 3-1 loss away to Brest in France’s Ligue 1 on Sunday.

Jason Davidson put in a full shift as KAS Eupen lost 1-0 at home to Anderlecht in Belgium’s Pro League.

Mat Ryan played a full game in goals as AZ Alkmaar drew 1-1 with Heerenveen in the Dutch Eredivisie.

Kye Rowles was rated 6/10 as Hearts lost 2-1 at Kilmarnock in the Scottish Premiership, with Garang Kuol and Nathaniel Atkinson unused subs.

The Scotsman wrote about Rowles: “Back from a long flight to the other side of the world, the Australian found himself in a tough physical tussle with Christian Doidge.”

Mark Birighitti put in a full shift and Aziz Behich started and played 82 minutes as Dundee United lost 2-0 at Rangers on Saturday. Aaron Mooy was absent due to injury as Celtic beat Ross County 2-0 on Sunday.

Lachlan Jackson was sent off for a second bookable offence in the 94th minute as Suwon FC lost 2-0 at Gwangju in the Korean K-League.

Trent Sainsbury was also on the scoresheet for Al Wakrah in their 4-2 loss to Al Sadd in the Qatari Stars League.

The central defender, who put in a full shift, made it 2-1 in the 57th minute, poking home from a corner after a teammate’s initial header was saved.
