Ajdin Hrustic’s Hellas Verona avoided relegation with a 3-1 away win over Spezia in the Italian Serie A in Sunday’s play-off.
Hrustic, who has spent most of the second half of this season sidelined with injured, was an unused substitute as Verona ensured their safety in the historic playoff.
Verona scored early and led 3-1 at half-time, holding on for the win despite being reduced to 10 men in the second half.
James Holland put in a full shift as Austria Vienna beat Austria Klagenfurt 5-0 in the second leg of their Conference League playoff to clinch their spot in Europe.
Mitch Duke scored a double as Japanese J2 League leaders Machida Zelvia won 4-2 over V-Varen Nagasaki on Sunday.
Duke netted Machida’s first and third goals in the win, opening the scoring on the half hour.
The Socceroo initially spread the ball wide before getting on the end of a cross with a first-time volley on the swivel.

Duke netted their third in the 58th minute, glancing on a long ball before racing forward and getting on hte end of Erik’s cross into the box with another neat first-time finish.
The 32-year-old forward has netted four times this J2 League season, with Machida well clear at the top of the division.
