Caitlin Foord and Steph Catley both played their part in Arsenal’s first-half goals as they brushed aside Bristol City 5-0 in the English Women’s Super League on Sunday.
Foord jinked into the box and hit the post with a seventh-minute shot, before Beth Mead capitalized on the rebound for 1-0.
Foord’s cutback set up the second goal in the 32nd minute, with the ball eventually falling kindly for Mead to fire home.
The goals kept coming down the left flank, with Catley getting into the box before her cross was deflected off Ella Powell and looped in over the keeper at the back post.
Catley put in a full shift while Foord started and played 63 minutes. Kyra Cooney-Cross was absent.
Clare Polkinghorne scored an own goal but Kristianstad still opened the new Swedish Damallsvenskan season with a 3-1 win at AIK.
Polkinghorne, who played a full game put the ball in her own net in the 36th minute, making it 2-1.
Amy Sayer started and played 92 minutes before being replaced late for Kristianstad.

Charlotte Grant was a 77th minute before Tottenham booked their spot in the English Women’s FA Cup final with an extra-time winner clinching a 2-1 victory over Leicester City. Remy Siemsen was an unused substitute for the Foxes.
Manchester United beat Sam Kerr’s Chelsea 2-1 in the other semi-final.
Hayley Raso was a 63rd minute substitute as Real Madrid eased past Granada 5-0 in the Spanish Primera Division Femenina.
Ellie Carpenter was absent for Olympique Lyon’s 6-1 victory away to Saint Etienne in the French Feminine Division 1.
Emily van Egmond put in a full shift as San Diego Wave drew 0-0 at Racing Louisville in USA’s NWSL. Kaitlyn Torpey was an unused sub for San Diego.
