Sam Kerr maintained her prolific recent form with a double or Chelsea in Saturday’s 5-0 win over Crystal Palace in the Women’s FA Cup.
Kerr’s good run now includes five goals from her past four games, while she’s provided assists in back-to-back games prior to that, offering plenty to the Blues attack after a phased return earlier this season from a long-term ACL injury.
The Matildas superstar only played 61 minutes against Palace but made a big impact, netting in the 22nd minute for 2-0. She added her side’s fourth goal six minutes into the second half.
Kerr forced a turnover in attack allowing Erin Cuthbert to play her in on goal, with the Australian slicing home past the goalkeeper in a one-on-one situation.
For the fourth, Kerr glanced home a header with precision from Guro Reiten’s left-flank cross.
Ellie Carpenter actually replaced Kerr on the hour mark, playing the final 30 as the Blues progressed.
Elsewhere, Clare Hunt put in a full shift at centre-back in Tottenham’s 3-0 home win over Leicester City. Emily van Egmond was a 46th minute sub for the Foxes.
Charlize Rule started and played 86 minutes in Brighton’s 2-0 victory over Nottingham Forest.
Steph Catley played the full 90 while Caitlin Foord was a 71st minute sub in Arsenal’s 2-0 home triumph over Aston Villa.
Katrina Gorry sat out West Ham’s 3-0 win at Newcastle, while Alanna Kennedy put in a full shift in a defensive midfield role in London City Lionesses’ 1-0 victory at Sunderland.
Teagan Micah was the back-up goalkeeper on the bench for Lyon in their 0-0 draw at Paris FC in France’s Premiere Ligue.
Alex Chidiac put in a full shift for Como in their 0-0 draw at Napoli in Italy’s Serie A Women.
Jessika Nash played the full game while Jacynta Galabadaarachchi started and played 85 minutes in Sassuolo’s 2-1 loss at Wini Heatley’s AS Roma. Heatley was an unused sub for Roma.
