Sam Kerr made it three goals in five games for Gotham in a 2-1 victory over Kansas City Current in USA’s NWSL over the weekend.
The Matildas forward scored the decisive goal in the 41st minute, turning home Jaedyn Shaw’s low cutback from close range with her left foot for 2-1.
Kerr has quickly made an impression in New York since her move from Chelsea, with three goals and an assist in seven appearances, including three strikes in her past five.
The striker almost turned provider in the 35th minute when her deflected cross was nodded over by Rose Lavelle.
The two players linked up again in the 63rd minute, with Kerr playing a deft pass but Lavelle shot wide.
In the 89th minute, Kerr hit the post when her left-foot snap shot was tipped by KCC keeper Marisa Jordan.
Elsewhere, Mackenzie Arnold put in a full shift in Portland Thorns’ 2-1 win over Orlando Pride.
In Sweden’s Damallsvenskan, Courtney Nevin played a full game in Malmo’s 6-0 win over Uppsala.
Amy Sayer was a 62nd minute substitute but not among the scorers while Charli Grant’s Malmo debut is still to come, remaining unused.
Remy Siemsen put in a full shift in Rosengard’s 1-0 home loss to Eskilstuna United.
Bryleeh Henry started and played 71 minutes, while Isabel Gomez got through 87 minutes.
