Hayley Raso scored a solo goal on her Tottenham debut as the English Women’s Super League kicked off, while Clare Polkinghorne netted a late winner in Sweden.
Raso opened the scoring in the 19th minute with a fine solo strike, receiving the ball with plenty to do and defenders around her.

The Matildas winker jinked forward and made space for a low shot which squeezed past keeper Shae Yanez and in at the far post.
Raso was replaced in the 87th minute. Clare Hunt started and put in a full shift in her Spurs debut, while Charlotte Grant was an 87th minute substitute.

Elsewhere, Kyra Cooney-Cross was among Arsenal’s best and Caitlin Foord helped set up their opening goal in a 2-2 draw with Manchester City in front of 41,000 fans at Emirates Stadium.
Foord bombed down the right flank and crossed for Frida Maanum to score the opener in the seventh minute. Foord also had a goal disallowed for offside early in the second half.
Foord started and played 63 minutes, while Cooney-Cross also started, replaced in the 73rd minute. Steph Catley was absent due to injury.
For City, Alanna Kennedy was a 40th minute sub, while Mary Fowler was injected in the 74th minute.

Katrina Gorry wore the captain’s armband for West Ham United, starting and played 83 minutes in a 3-0 loss away to Manchester United.
Teagan Micah was absent for Liverpool who drew 1-1 with Courtney Nevin’s Leicester City. Nevin was a 77th minute sub.
Clare Wheeler put in a full shift for Everton who were hammered 4-0 by Dario Vidosic’s Brighton & Hove Albion.
In the Swedish Damallsvenskan, Clare Polkinghorne popped up with a 93rd minute winner for Kristianstad in a 1-0 away victory over Vittsjo.
Polkinghorne, who scored in trademark fashion with a header from a corner, along with Remy Siemsen both played full games in the win.
