Cortnee Vine netted her first goal at club level since September, with the opener in North Carolina Courage’s 2-1 win away to Alanna Kennedy’s Angel City in USA’s NWSL.
Vine opened the scoring in the first minute, capping off a fine team move, poking home Manaka Matsukuko’s low ball across the box.
The Matildas attacker was starting up front for the Courage, while Kennedy played in a new midfield role for Angel City.
Vine played 69 minutes before being replaced. Kennedy got through 86 minutes.
Elsewhere in USA’s NWSL, Kaitlyn Torpey started and played 78 minutes in Portland Thorns’ 2-0 win over Washington Spirit. Mackenzie Arnold remained out injured.
In Sweden’s Damallsvenskan, Amy Sayer provided assists for both of Kristianstad’s goals in a 2-2 draw with IF Brommapojkarna.
Sayer, who only a few months ago returned from a long-term ACL injury, started and played 83 minutes. Remy Siemsen started up front and played 71 minutes.
