Matildas goalkeeper Lydia Williams made her debut for Paris Saint-Germain following her off-season move from Arsenal as they lost 1-0 to Ellie Carpenter’s Olympique Lyon in the Trophee des Championne on Sunday.

Williams, who slipped to second choice at Arsenal and managed only eight appearances last season, started for PSG in Sunday’s pre-season cup clash.

The Matildas goalkeeper was beaten in the 13th minute when she parried a tough low Delphine Cascarino shot into the path of the onrushing Danielle van de Donk to slot the rebound.

Williams did make good blocks to deny Ada Stolsmo Hegerberg in the 51st minute and Cascarino in the 72nd.
