Tom Rogic, James Holland and Ryan Strain all picked up injury concerns while Harry Souttar and Bailey Wright had difficult games in England over the weekend.

Mat Ryan was back on the bench as Spanish leaders conceded late to draw 1-1 at home with Athletic Bilbao in La Liga on Sunday.

James Holland limped off early after landing awkwardly as LASK Linz lost 3-2 to Rapid Vienna in the Austrian Bundesliga on Sunday. Holland was replaced after 17 minutes.

Ryan Strain was also worryingly replaced before half-time as Maccabi Haifa drew 2-2 at Ashdod in the Israeli Ligat Ha’Al. Strain went off after 38 minutes.

Harry Souttar played a full game but it was one to forget as Stoke City blew a 3-0 lead to draw 3-3 at home with Cardiff in the English Championship.

Souttar earned a 5/10 rating from Stoke Sentinel who wrote: “Long ball to Brown made goal for Fletcher. Let cross through too easily for Moore’s goal.”

Bailey Wright came on at half-time with Sunderland down 2-1 before losing 5-1 to Rotherham United in League One.

Wright was rated 3/10 by the Sunderland Echo who wrote: “Brought on to try and shore it up, but was beaten far too easily by Smith for the fourth. Struggled throughout the half.”

Tom Rogic was out with a hamstring injury which will rule him out of upcoming Socceroos duty as Celtic drew with Livingston, while Martin Boyle‘s Hibernian had their game at Ross County postponed in the Scottish Premiership after two positive COVID-19 cases within the Hibs camp.

Celtis boss Ange Postecoglou said about Rogic: “He had a scan on his hamstring. It’s going to put him out for at least two to three weeks. It’s not a major one but he definitely won’t be involved in these games.

“Then obviously we have the international window, and if everything goes to plan he should be available once we get back from that.”
