Sam Kerr returned to club action to help Chelsea clinch a spot in the English Women’s FA Cup final against Caitlin Foord, Steph Catley and Lydia Williams’ Arsenal.
Kerr started for Chelsea who won 3-0 over Manchester City, who did not utilise Aussie pair Hayley Raso or Alanna Kennedy.
The Matildas skipper started and played 59 minutes in the semi-final win, although she was relatively quiet.
Kerr’s best chance came with Chelsea 2-0 up in the first half when Fran Kirby played her in but her low shot was saved by Karima Benameur Taieb.
Caitlin Foord led the line as Arsenal rested some key players in their 3-0 win over Brighton & Hove Albion in their semi-final.
Foord came close twice in quick succession early, with a close-range effort saved and a glancing header going wide.
Neither Steph Catley or Lydia Williams were used by Arsenal who scored three second-half goals.
Emily van Egmond was a half-time substitute for Orlando Pride in their 1-0 home loss to Chicago Red Stars in the NWSL.
Clare Polkinghorne returned at club level after scoring twice for the Matildas, playing a full game as Vittsjo lost 1-0 at AIK in the Swedish Damallsvenskan.
She was an exception with Ellie Carpenter and Mary Fowler rested as unused subs following long trips home from national duty.
