Martin Boyle started the new Scottish season with a goal and two assists as Hibernian eased past Egin City 5-0 in the Premier Sports Cup on Saturday.
The Socceroo darted in behind the Elgin defence inside the box, before squaring the ball for Dylan Vente to convert in the eighth minute.
Boyle made it 4-0 in the 54th minute, again bursting in behind the defence from Josh Campbell’s pass, taking one touch before rifling home in trademark style.
The Aussie whipped in a corner which Vente headed home in the 57th minute for 5-0.
Boyle put in a rare full shift along with Lewis Miller.
Elsewhere in Scotland, Ryan Strain made his Dundee United debut in a 2-0 loss at Falkirk where he played the full game at right-back.
Ryan McGowan also debuted for his new club, Livingston, whom he joined in the off-season on a two-year deal.
