Socceroos teenage whizkid Lucas Herrington is on the verge of a bumper move to newly-promoted English Premier League outfit Hull City, according to reports.
The Athletic claims that the Tigers have reached an agreement with Colorado Rapids, Herrington’s current club, on a deal to sign him for the upcoming season.
The Brisbane Roar product is set to become Australia’s most expensive football transfer, with speculation it is worth $24 million plus add-ons worth another $8.5m.
Hull City owner Acun Ilicali revealed their interest in him on the weekend when he said: “He’s [got] very big potential. Very young boy. I think [a] future star. We are very close, very close.”

Jackson Irvine and Connor Metcalfe are both back at St Pauli but their futures remain unclear, although new boss Marcel Rapp says he’s planning for them to stay at the club.
Both Aussies have been linked with moves after St Pauli’s relegation from the Bundesliga. Irvine completed individual training this week, while Metcalfe sat out due to injury.
Rapp said: “Whether the boys will be able to play on the first, second or third matchday remains to be seen.”
He added: “We’re happy that they’re there. They’re players we’re planning for. Jacko can play in the six, Connor in the six, eight or 10.”
Socceroos shot-stopper Mat Ryan has extended his stay in Spain’s La Liga with Levante after helping them avoid relegation last term. The new one-year deal was confirmed on Friday.

Football360 is reporting that Socceroos back-up goalkeeper Paul Izzo wants a move away from Danish club Randers in order to boost his international prospects. He wasn’t part of Randers’ matchday squad against Silkeborg.
Randers football director Søren Pedersen told Viaplay: “There is no doubt that he has a desire to join another club at some point.
“He has one year left on his contract, came home late from the World Cup and hasn’t played any games in the start, so that’s also part of the explanation for why he wasn’t here. Some options are being explored, but it’s not like there’s a concrete offer on my table, or that we’re close to anything, so it could easily take some time.”
In confirmed transfers, Socceroos speedster Sam Silvera has completed a move from Middlesbrough to League One outfit MK Dons.

“Sam is a player that we pursued throughout the summer. He’s someone who’s quick, wants to take people on and brings a bit more competition along the front line,” Dons boss Paul Warne told the club website. “All the research we did on him with his team-mates came back glowing.”
Aussie goalkeeper Ashley Maynard-Brewer has exited Dundee United for English third tier club Sheffield Wednesday on a one-year deal.
Kaelan Majekodunmi has been training with League Two club Swindon Town, with manager Ian Holloway to decide in coming days whether to offer him a permanent stay.
Aussie 20-year-old talent Daniel Bennie has moved on a season-long loan from QPR to Dundee United. Bennie said: “It’s such a huge club and it felt at this stage of my career it is the best move to keep developing my craft on loan.

“I know a few of the lads from the A-League and played with Josh for a bit at Perth so I’m excited to see some familiar faces and also meet all the other lads.”
Bennie debuted on Saturday in the opening weekend of the Scottish Premiership as United drew 1-1 with Rangers.
Bennie was a 70th minute substitute for Lachie Rose, who scored the Tangerines’ goal, deflecting home a Jesse Randall ball with a touch of fortune.
Aussie full-back Josh Rawlins also made his league debut for United, playing the full 90 minutes.
After an off-season move from Hearts, Cammy Devlin debuted for Rangers, playing 82 minutes in midfield. Devlin was rated 6.7/10 by Glasgow World, who wrote: “Not at his best after his pre-season heroics and needs someone beside him with creativity.”
Elsewhere, Martin Boyle got on the scoresheet in Hibernian’s 2-1 home loss to Motherwell. Boyle converted a 56th minute penalty for Hibs.
Boyle won the penalty after a wayward Motherwell backpass, with Aussie midfielder Oscar Priestman hauling him down.
For ‘Well, Jake Girdwood-Reich debuted and played 66 minutes, while Priestman put in 82 minutes.
In friendly action, Jaylan Pearman scored the winner for QPR in a 3-2 triumph over AFC Wimbledon, unleashing a stinging 20-yard low drive which was tipped on to the post before he reacted fastest to tuck home the rebound.
