Mat Ryan made a penalty save as he kept a clean sheet for Levante who secured a 0-0 road draw against Malaga in Spain’s La Liga on Sunday.
Ryan stood up and remained unmoved to save Chupe’s ninth-minute penalty down the middle, after Nacho Perez’s handballed inside the box.
The Socceroo was arguably the player of the match, finishing with three saves for the game.
Alessandro Circati made his Portuguese Primeira Liga debut for Benfica in a 3-0 victory over Maritimo.
Circati, who moved from Parma to the Lisbon powerhouse in the off-season, was a 62nd minute substitute.
Benfica manager Marco Silva said: “Circati provided a bit more security on the wing.
“A bit more of a positional player. We changed the strategy because we no longer had Rafa (Silva) on the right wing and from then on, the team became balanced in a different way if I may say so. And we controlled the game until the end.”
Elsewhere, Nestory Irankunda was a 67th minute substitute for Sporting Lisbon in a 2-0 home win over Nacional.
Cristian Volpato limped out of Sassuolo’s 2-2 draw with Bologna with an apparent hamstring injury in Italy’s Serie A on Sunday.
Volpato exited the game in the 37th minute, with the extent of the injury still unknown.
Sassuolo boss Alberto Aquilani told reporters: “I think Volpato has an injury, we’ll see tomorrow.”
Paul Okon-Engstler started for FC Koln again but was replaced at the break with his side 1-0 down as they lost 4-1 to Stuttgart in the German Bundesliga.
Connor Metcalfe played the second half for St Pauli in a 2=-2 draw at Arminia Bielefeld in the 2.Bundesliga. Sam Klein was an 89th minute sub.
Aiden O’Neill returned from a long-term ankle injury for New York City in their 0-0 draw with Nashville in the MLS.
O’Neill played 20 minutes off the bench as a 69th minute substitute, marking his first club appearance in four months.
City boss Pascal Jansen said: “Has been out for two months since his last game in the World Cup, and he steps on the pitch like he’s played last week.

Beach had a nightmare moment for Strasbourg’s fifth goal with his poor throw intercepted by Sam Amo-Ameyaw in a dangerous position, dancing forward and curling home.
In England, Lucas Herrington was a 71st minute substitute for Hull City in their 0-0 home draw with Aston Villa.
Yorkshire Post rated Herrington 6/10 and wrote: “Made a really big block in his short time on the field.”
In the Championship, Mohamed Toure continued his goal scoring form with a strike in Norwich City’s 3-1 win at Sheffield United.
Toure took his season tally to four goals in six games, coolly slotting in the 44th minute for 2-1 from Anis Ben Slimane’s pass.
In transfer news, Manchester United talent James Overy has signed a three-year deal with Sydney FC.
