Taggart, who netted in last weekend’s derby win over Gamba Osaka, opened the scoring in the 17th minute against Shonan.

The pair of goals came after Taggart was sidelined for almost six months with a knee injury, only returning in April.

Taggart was substituted off in the 65th minute as Cerezo moved up to fourth.

Elsewhere in the J.League, Mitch Langerak hobbled off after an early leg injury in Nagoya Grampus’ 1-0 loss away to Sanfrecce Hiroshima on Saturday.

Langerak was replaced in the ninth minute having appeared to have injured himself when attempting to collect a free-kick which he fumbled for an early chance.

Gianni Stensness played a full game as Viking lost 3-2 at Stromsgodset in the Norwegian Eliteserien on Saturday.

Martin Boyle started and played 90 minutes before being replaced late as Al Faisaly drew 1-1 with Al Ittifaq in the Saudi Arabian Pro League on Saturday.

Milos Degenek was back in the starting line-up for Columbus Crew, putting a full shift as they wo 2-1 at Atlanta United in the MLS.

Brad Smith went off in the 18th minute with an apparent injury as DC United lost 4-1 at New York Red Bulls.
