Socceroos goalkeeper Patrick Beach has landed a European move, penning a five-year deal with newly-promoted French Ligue 1 club Troyes.
Troyes confirmed the deal for Beach, who was a revelation at the 2026 World Cup, on Sunday with a social media post and press release.
Beach moves from Melbourne City to Troyes, who are also owned by the City Football Group.
Troyes have had a yoyo existence in recent seasons, but secured promotion back to Ligue 1 in the 2025-26 campaign as second tier champions, ending a three-year absence.
Beach will contend with Burkina Faso international goalkeeper Hillel Konate to be Troyes’ preferred number one. Veteran ‘keeper Zacharie Boucher is also on the books.
Shot-stopper Nicolas Lemaitre had started last campaign as Troyes’ no.1 but suffered an ACL injury in October, opening the door for Konate. Lemaitre recently signed with Stade Rennes, leading to Troyes making their move for Beach.
Australia Under-23 international striker Luka Jovanovic has become the latest Aussie to head to the United States, signing with MLS club San Jose Earthquakes.
The 21-year-old Adelaide United forward joined for an undisclosed fee, signing on until mid-2028 with the option of a further season.
Earthquakes sporting director and head coach Bruce Arena: “Luka is a young striker with outstanding potential as demonstrated by his play this past year as the Golden Boot winner in the Australian first division.
“His work ethic and goalscoring make him an excellent addition to our roster and we welcome him to the San Jose Earthquakes.”
