Socceroos midfielder Paul Okon-Engstler will join German Bundesliga club FC Koln according to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano.
Romano reported the move on Friday, with full agreement reached with the player and clubs, landing on a €1 million transfer fee for Sydney FC.
Okon-Engstler will undergo a medical this coming week, with the signing to be formally announced following that.
The transfer sees 21-year-old midfielder Okon-Engstler kick on from the A-League after impressive displays at the World Cup.
Koln finished 14th in the Bundesliga last term and are perennial relegation battlers.

Socceroos midfielder Cammy Devlin has secured a move from Hearts to Glasgow giants Rangers on a two-year deal with the option of a further season.
Devlin, 28, was outstanding in Hearts’ Scottish Premiership title charge which ultimately fell short on the final day to Celtic.
He joins the ‘Gers as a free agent after the expiration of his Hearts contract, having spent five years at the Edinburgh club. Devlin follows manager Derek McInnes, who moved from Hearts to Rangers this off-season, along with Scotland international striker Lawrence Shankland.
Devlin said: “It feels amazing. I am obviously so happy to get it over the line; with the gaffer coming here and a lot of change happening at the club, it feels like a great time to be coming here.
“It is just an absolute honour and privilege; I am so aware, being in Scotland for a while now, the size of the club and everything that comes with playing at such a massive football club. To call myself a Rangers player now feels pretty special and I just cannot wait to get started.”
McInnes said: “Cammy is obviously a player I know, and I am well aware what he will offer to Rangers. His levels of consistency for me were superb, and he is the type of player that every manager wants in his team.
“He is someone who knows the Scottish league, and nothing will surprise him with what lies ahead. I am looking forward to welcoming Cammy to Rangers and working with him again after he returns from his holiday.”

In more confirmed transfer news, fringe Socceroo Anthony Caceres has signed with Thai club Bangkok United, exiting Macarthur FC.
Yaya Dukuly has moved from Adelaide United to Slovenian champions NK Celje for an undisclosed fee.
Connor Metcalfe has been linked with a move away from relegated German club St Pauli, but teammate Jackson Irvine could also be heading out the exit door.
Irvine’s future at the club has been discussed, with the Socceroo reportedly open to a move and St Pauli looking at alternate options in midfield.
According to Abend Blatt, St Pauli sporting director Andreas Bornemann said: “Jacko needs to clarify with the coach what his sporting role should look like and how willing he is to go down this path and take on this role. Marcel has already told him on the phone how he wants to play and how he sees him.
“With Jacko, it’s about the question of what condition he arrives here to make his contribution. It’s not just about the physical condition, but also the mental condition – that he continues to get involved here as he has done in the past.
“Ideally, such things are discussed when you are sitting together at the table – and not on the phone while the player is on vacation.”
In injury news, Feyenoord has confirmed Jordan Bos has undergone knee surgery and will miss the first three months of the Dutch Eredivisie season.
Bos starred at the World Cup, prompting transfer interest, before an untimely knee injury in the knockout defeat to Egypt.
Feyenoord’s update on the weekend read: “Jordan Bos suffered a knee injury in the last World Cup match with his national team. Bos underwent surgery this morning, and the procedure went well. The expectation is that he will be unavailable for multiple months.”
Bos posted a photo of him in hospital, with the caption: “We’ll be back stronger.”
