Mackenzie Arnold might be set for an extended injury lay-off having missed Portland Thorns’ 1-1 draw with San Diego Wave in USA’s NWSL on Sunday.
Arnold had been in good form, including a fine display in a shut-out performance last weekend against Orlando Pride.
She was ruled out of Portland’s line-up due to a leg injury, with Bella Bixby given the start.
When asked about whether the injury is long-term, Thorns head coach Rob Gale said: “I’m not sure of your definition of long-term, but I’m going to say no.”

Alanna Kennedy got an assist in Angel City’s 2-0 victory over Utah Royals.
Kennedy put in a full shift in the win, playing in a pass for Christen Press who had plenty to do, before curling home a shot.
Cortnee Vine went unused in North Carolina Courage’s 1-1 draw with Orlando Pride.
Amy Sayer made her first start since her long-term ACL injury, getting through 67 minutes in Kristianstad’s 3-2 win over Vittjso in Sweden’s Damallsvenskan.
Remy Siemsen was a 73rd minute substitute for Kristianstad.
Elsewhere, Jada Whyman kept a clean sheet in AIK’s 1-0 triumph over Hammarby.

It was an uneventful final day for our Matildas in the English Women’s Super League, with Sam Kerr’s Chelsea already crowned champions and rounding that out with a 1-0 home win over Liverpool, for whom Teagan Micah was an unused sub.
