Sam Kerr got another 20 minutes off the bench but failed to score as Chelsea eased past Katrina Gorry’s struggling West Ham United 4-0 in the Women’s Super League on Sunday.
Kerr, who a fortnight ago returned from an 18-month layoff with an ACL injury, came on in the 72nd minute with the Blues already 4-0 up.
But Kerr couldn’t add to their tally, having scored on her return two weeks ago.
The Matildas skipper had a volley blocked before Catarina Macario rattled a shot into the crossbar.
Kerr had a better chance two minutes later on a break, with Maika Hamano releasing her into space, taking three touches into the box before her left-foot shot was blocked by the Hammers keeper’s legs.
Ellie Carpenter was an unused sub for Chelsea, while Gorry played 78 minutes and was one of West Ham’s best.
Caitlin Foord was dropped to the bench as Arsenal dropped points again, with a 1-1 draw with Aston Villa.
Foord came on in the 65th minute. Steph Catley played a full game. Kyra Cooney-Cross was unused again.
Clare Hunt played a full game and was one of Tottenham’s best as they defeated Leicester City 2-1 on the road. Charli Grant went unused for Spurs.
Emily van Egmond played the full 90 minutes in midfield for the Foxes.
Charlie Rule played 68 minutes in Brighton’s 1-0 home win over Everton. Clare Wheeler put in a full shift for the Toffees in midfield.
Alanna Kennedy was an unused sub for London City Lionesses against his former side as they went down 4-1 to Manchester City.
Hayley Raso started but was replaced at half-time in Eintracht Frankfurt’s 3-1 win away to Viktoria Berlin in the German DFB-Pokal.
Anna Margraf got on the scoresheet in Carl Zeiss Jena’s 5-0 victory away to Chemie Leipzig.
