Noah Botic, Anthony Kalik, Johnny Koutroumbis and Apostolos Stamatelopoulos were among the goals this weekend, while Max Balard was sent off.
Noah Botic netted Austria Vienna’s third goal in a 3-1 victory away to Marco Tilio’s Rapid Vienna in the Austrian Bundesliga on Sunday.
Botic scored his maiden league goal to put Austria 3-1 up in the 58th minute. He’s scored two goals for the Violets since moving to Austria, with the other coming in the cup.
The Australian netted with a simple back-post finish from Abubakar Barry’s cutback, with Botic’s positioning the key to the goal.
He was replaced in the 67th minute, while Tilio came on for Rapid in the 66th minute as they searched for a way back.
Ajdin Hrustic provided the assist for Heracles’ third goal in a 3-0 win over Sparta Rotterdam in the Dutch Eredivisie on Saturday.
Hrustic played the full game in midfield, laying off the pass for Jizz Hornkamp’s 69th minute goal.
The Socceroo worked a one-two in his own half, before doing brilliantly to race forward, hold off a defender and lay off a through-ball for Hornkamp.
The result earns last-placed Heracles their first points of the campaign.
Elsewhere, Jordan Bos got the assist for Feyenoord’s winner in a 1-0 victory at Groningen.
Bos put in a full shift at left-back, with his pass setting up Ayase Ueda for the 50th minute goal.
The Socceroo retrieved an over-hit cross, before jinking on to his right-foot to deliver a pinpoint ball for Ueda to head home.
Max Balard was sent off in NAC Breda’s 2-1 loss at Ajax, picking up two bookings within seven minutes in the second half.
Trailing 2-1, Balard initially was booked for tripping in the 64th minute before he received his second yellow for holding in the 71st minute.
Connor Metcalfe was an 80th minute substitute for St Pauli in a 2-1 home defeat to Bayer Leverkusen in the German Bundesliga.
Anthony Kalik scored Hajduk Split’s second goal in their 2-0 triumph over Lokomotiva Zagreb in the Croatian Prva HNL on Sunday.
Ryan Teague was an unused substitute as Mechelen won 2-0 at Charleroi on Sunday to rise up to third in the Belgian Pro League standings.
Mat Ryan made a handful of good saves as Levante earned a 1-1 draw away to Getafe in the Spanish La Liga.
Apostolos Stamatelopoulos got a goal and an assist in Motherwell’s 2-0 win over Aberdeen in the Scottish Premiership.
Stamatelopoulos provided the pass for fellow Aussie Johnny Koutroumbis’ 93rd minute goal, before converting a penalty himself in the 97th minute. Earlier, Stamatelopoulos had spurned two gilt-edged chances.
Motherwell manager Jens Berthel Askou said: “I think everyone is extremely happy on Apostolos Stamatelopoulos’ behalf. He’s such a hard worker and today we had to create a penalty where he could score meanwhile he has worked extremely hard for his teammates. He really deserved that.”
Cammy Devlin was rated 7/10 for a full shift in Hearts’ 3-0 win over Falkirk. Edinburgh Evening News wrote: “Saw a lot of the ball in midfield and was never far away when tackles were required.”
Martin Boyle was rated 6.5/10 in Hibernian’s 0-0 draw with Celtic. Edinburgh Evening News wrote: “Pace on the break kept the Celtic defence honest, even if the Hibs skipper did see very little of the ball. Made way for Klidje with just under 25 minutes to go.”
Zac Sapsford missed a late penalty as Dundee United were downed 2-0 at home by Kilmarnock.
