Matildas star Cortnee Vine scored her maiden NWSL goal for her new club North Carolina Courage in a 2-1 win over Kansas City Current on Sunday.
Playing her second game for North Carolina since her switch from A-League outfit Sydney FC, Vine scored the equalizer in the 67th minute.
The 29-time Matildas winger had debuted in last week’s loss to Seattle Reign, having become officially available to the Courage on August 1.
In driving rain, Vine produced the goal in the 67th minute, finding space on the left side of the box with a nice jink on her right foot before rifling home a shot.
The game was actually delayed in the 80th minute due to severe weather before a late winner from Brianna Pinto.
Charlotte McLean was an unused substitute for the Courage.
Elsewhere in the NWSL, Emily van Egmond was in the starting line-up for San Diego Wave in their Monday morning (AEST) clash with Washington Spirit.
Goalkeeper Mackenzie Arnold made her debut for Portland Thorns, playing a full game in a 3-1 home defeat to Bay FC.
