Matildas superstar Sam Kerr has officially signed with USA National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) club Gotham FC on a deal running through until the 2023 season.
Kerr joins the NWSL club as a free agent after exiting Chelsea, returning to the USA having previously dominated for New York-based Sky Blue FC (who are now Gotham FC) from 2015 to 2017.
During Kerr’s time with Sky Blue, she set multiple club and NWSL records that still stand. The 32-year-old Kerr will join Gotham in July, pending international transfer certificate clearance.
“I’m incredibly excited to return to Gotham FC and to this city,” Kerr said. “This club was an important part of my journey, and to come back at this moment, with everything Gotham has built, is really special.

In other Matildas transfer news, two-cap Australia international Isabel Gomez has signed with Swedish Damallsvenskan club Rosengard until the 2028 season. The 23-year-old midfielder joins from Central Coast Mariners.
Gomez said: “I am thrilled to have signed with FC Rosengard and look forward to wearing the blue-and-red jersey.”
Rosengard head of football Caroline Seger said: “Isabel is a strong ball-winner with a high work rate. She is tactically disciplined and has great game intelligence. She feels like a fantastic addition for the autumn season.”

Gomez will be joined by six-cap Matildas forward Bryleeh Henry at Rosengard, after the Melbourne City talent inked a two-year deal with the Swedish club.
Henry said: “I am incredibly excited to join FC Rosengard and start this new chapter in my career. I believe this is the perfect place for me to challenge myself in a new environment and continue developing both as a player and as a person.
“Joining a club with such a proud and successful history is a true honor, and I am very grateful for the opportunity. Matildas veteran Emily Gielnik also made a recent move, switching Mexican club Monterrey for Pumas UNAM.
Gielnik, who scored nine goals in 25 games for Monterrey, will link up with Pumas UNAM ahead of the new Liga MX Femenil season which starts later this month.
In contract news, Katrina Gorry and Charli Grant remain without clubs after departing West Ham United and Tottenham at the end of the last WSL season.
