Alessandro Circati backed up his return game last weekend, with a full shift as Parma completed a remarkable comeback to avoid relegation from Italy’s Serie A.
Parma rallied back from two goals down to win 3-2 at Champions League-bound Atalanta to clinch survival and finish 16th.
Circati had been out since September due to an ACL injury, returning to the matchday squad last month, before making his league return last weekend against champions Napoli.
In the English Premier League, Cam Burgess was an unused substitute while Massimo Luongo made a cameo off the bench as an 88th minute sub as Ipswich Town bowed out of the top tier with a 3-1 home loss to West Ham United.
In the Slovenian 1. SNL, Deni Juric scored his 10th goal of the season to help Koper win 3-1 at Mura and secure European qualification after finishing third in the league.
Mitch Duke scored his first goal of the season for Machida Zelvia to rescue a 2-2 draw away to Fagiano Okayama in Japan’s J1 League on Sunday.
Duke, who came on as a 62nd minute sub, scored in the 81st minute with a glancing header from Yuki Soma’s ball.
The goal was the Socceroo’s first in 11 games, mostly used off the bench this season.
Fran Karacic was among the goals as Lokomotiva won 3-0 away to HNK Gorica in the Croatian’s Prva HNL on Saturday.
Karacic netted his side’s third goal in the 89th minute to round the victory, getting down the wing and whipping in a cross which ended up in the back of the net.
The Socceroo put in a full shift in a right full-back role.
Karacic has played 34 games in the league this season for four goals, helping Lokomotiva avoid the drop and finish eighth.
John Iredale continued his good form in Korea’s K League 2 with an assist in Seoul E-Land’s 1-0 victory away to Hwaseong.
Iredale provided the pass for Pedrinho’s 13th minute winner.
Iredale has netted six goals and provided two assists in 12 games for Seoul E-Land.
Nestory Irankunda was a 76th minute substitute in Grasshoppers’ 2-0 victory over St Gallen which saw them avoid automatic relegation from the Swiss Super League.
However the result wasn’t enough to ensure survival, with Grasshoppers set for a promotion/relegation playoff against Aarau in midweek.
Irankunda is on loan with Grasshoppers from German champions Bayern Munich.
In USA’s MLS, Patrick Yazbek started and played 86 minutes in Nashville’s 2-1 win at Toronto, while Kye Rowles put in a full shift in DC United’s 2-0 home defeat to New York Red Bulls.
