Cammy Devlin suffered heartbreak as Hearts missed out on the Scottish Premiership title, losing on the final day 3-1 to Celtic.
Devlin put in a full shift and impressed, earning an 8/10 rating from Edinburgh Evening News who wrote: “Frustrated home fans, stuck into battles and composed on the ball. Battling display amid recent fitness issues.”
The re-signed Martin Boyle played a game, rated 6/10, while Ante Suto got 20 minutes off the bench as Hibernian went down 1-0 to Motherwell.
Edinburgh Evening News wrote about Boyle: “All effort, all heart, as he marked his ‘farewell’ appearance – hold that for one more year – with guts and gusto. But really didn’t threaten Motherwell.”
Johnny Koutroumbis and Oscar Priestman both were 73rd minute subs for Motherwell.
On Sunday, Zac Sapsford scored Dundee United’s goal in their 1-1 draw at St Mirren.
Jackson Irvine and Connor Metcalfe suffered relegation from the German Bundesliga as St Pauli lost 3-1 at home to VfL Wolfsburg to send them to the second tier.
St Pauli needed victory to give themselves a chance of reaching the promotion/relegation playoff and Metcalfe offered hope, when his corner was nodded in by Abdoulie Ceesay for 1-1 in the 57th minute.
But Wolfsburg scored two goals in the final 20 minutes to secure victory, moving them up to 16th and relegating St Pauli in the process.
Both Irvine and Metcalfe started and played 92 minutes before being replaced in stoppage time.
On the final day of the Dutch Eredivisie season, Max Balard played a full game as relegated NAC Breda drew 3-3 at AZ Alkmaar.
Jordan Bos put in a full shift in Feyenoord’s 2-0 win at PEC Zwolle, while Rhys Bozinovski was a 76th minute substitute in Groningen’s 2-1 win at Heracles.
Gianni Stensness was among the scorers as Viking down Start 6-3 in the Norwegian Eliteserien.
Stensness nodded in a diagonal free-kick to drag Viking back into the contest in the 41st minute to make it 2-1.
