Tom Rogic provided the assist for the winning goal as Celtic defeated Martin Boyle’s Hibernian 2-1 to lift the Scottish League Cup on Sunday.

Rogic lifted a ball in behind the Hibs defence before Japanese midfielder Kyogo Furuhashi produced a magical finish for the 72nd minute winner.

Earlier, Boyle had got the assist for Hibs’ goal which put them ahead, lofting in a corner for Paul Hanlon to head home early in the second half.

Rogic received a 7/10 rating from Football.Scotland who wrote: “Shackled well by Hibs who had three players around him every time he touched the ball.

“Decision making on the day perhaps not at its best, passing up the chance to play in Kyogo on a handful of occasions. But when he’s on it, he’s on it and his quick free-kick took everyone off guard for Kyogo’s second.”

Boyle got a 6/10 rating: “Some brief flashes from the winger but didn’t cause a huge amount of problems.”

Cameron Devlin played a full game as Hearts won 1-0 at Dundee, while Ash Maynard-Brewer put in a full shift as Ross County drew 1-1 at Livingston in the Scottish Premiership.

Riley McGree played a full game and was rated as Birmingham City’s best afield as they were beaten 4-0 by Blackburn Rovers in the English Championship on Saturday.

McGree earned a 6/10 rating from the Birmingham Mail who wrote: “Tried to cajole the odd attack in a parlous collective display – others lacked his ingenuity to help him. Came close with a well-struck free kick.”

Callum Elder was a 64th minute substitute as Hull City lost 2-1 at Nottingham Forest.

Elder received a 5/10 rating from the Hull Daily Mail who wrote: “Not sure what he was doing in the build-up to Forest’s second and winning goal.”

Kenny Dougall put in a full shift as Blackpool won 3-1 over Peterborough United.

Ryan Williams netted as Oxford United lost 3-2 at home to Wigan Athletic in League One. Williams, who played a full game, pulled a goal back in the 33rd minute.

Trent Sainsbury played a full game as Kortrijk won 2-0 at RFC Seraing to move up to seventh in the Belgian First Division A.

Aaron Mooy put in a full shift as Shanghai Port lost 2-0 at home to Shandong Taishan in the Chinese Super League.

Ajdin Hrustic was a 56th minute substitute as Eintracht Frankfurt made it three wins in a row to move up to sixth with a 1-0 victory over FSV Mainz in the German Bundesliga.

The Socceroo, making his first Bundesliga appearance since October, hit the crossbar with an audacious attempt during his cameo off the bench.
