Tom Rogic made his debut for new club West Bromwich Albion in the English Championship, while there were goals to Martin Boyle and Keanu Baccus in the Scottish Premiership.
Firstly to the English second tier where Tom Rogic started for West Brom in their 3-2 home loss to Swansea City on Saturday.
The ex-Celtic midfielder got through 57 minute sbefore being replaced, earning a 5/10 rating from the Birmingham Mail.
The Birmingham Mail wrote: “A full debut for Rogic, a debut which lasted a little under an hour. Clearly will need to be allowed time to build up match fitness levels, and it was clear he was a little way off his best here.
“There were some nice touches along the way as he develops an understanding with his new teammates.”
In the Scottish Premiership, Cameron Devlin was sent off for Hearts in their 4-0 home loss to Rangers.
Devlin received a straight red card in the 39th minute for a poor tackle where came in as the second man and stamped on Gers’ Rabbi Matondo’s ankle, with Hearts already trailing 2-0.
Hearts boss Robbie Neilson said: “The red card has a huge bearing on the outcome. Silly decision to go in for the tackle in that area. Cammy has been outstanding for us since day one. He plays on the edge, he’s still a young kid and will learn from today.”
Nathaniel Atkinson was an unused sub.
Martin Boyle scored Hibernian’s second goal and his fourth of the season as they triumphed 2-0 at Ross County.
Boyle, who put in a full shift, was left unmarked inside the box and able to fire home a deflected cross in the 80th minute. Lewis Miller was an unused sub for Hibs.
Keanu Baccus opened the scoring as St Mirren moved up to third with a 2-1 over Livingston but the game was soured by an injury to Socceroos right-back Ryan Strain.
Fresh from his Socceroos debut, Baccus headed in Ryan Flynn’s cross from the edge of the box in the 68th minute.
Baccus started and played 75 minutes after arriving back in Scotland following international duty on Wednesday alongside Strain, who came on in 60th minute but had to go off seven minutes later with an apparent muscle issue. Phillip Cancar was an unused sub for Livi.
Aaron Mooy was a 91st minute substitute as Celtic edged Motherwell 2-1, while Aziz Behich and Ryan McGowan played full games as Dundee United lost 2-1 at home to St Johnstone. Mark Birighitti returned to the United bench after a hamstring strain.
Denis Genreau was a 72nd minute substitute as Toulouse won 4-0 over Montpellier in the French Ligue 1 on Sunday.
Mat Ryan kept a clean sheet as FC Copenhagen defeated AGF 1-0 in the Danish Superliga on Sunday.
Awer Mabil was unused on the bench as Cadiz drew 0-0 with Villarreal in the Spanish La Liga.
Alou Kuol wasn’t in the VfB Stuttgart matchday squad as they lost 3-2 at VfL Wolfsburg in the German Bundesliga.
Cristian Volpato was an unused substitute as AS Roma triumphed 2-1 away to Inter Milan in the Italian Serie A.
Fran Karacic put in a full shift as Brescia lost 6-2 to Bari in Serie B, while Alessandro Circati played a full game as Parma beat Frosinone 2-1.
Lachlan Jackson scored Suwon’s second goal with a header from a corner in a 2-2 draw with Gimcheon Sangmu in the Korean K League 1 relegation round on Sunday. Jackson put in a full shift.
