Caitlin Foord and Steph Catley both got assists in front of an English Women’s Super League crowd of almost 50,000 while Emily Gielnik scored her maiden goal of the new season.

Foord and Catley were both in the starting line-ups as Arsenal won 4-0 over Kyah Simon‘s Tottenham on Saturday in front of 47,367 fans.

Foord, who started and played 69 minutes, forced a turnover, setting up the chance for Vivienne Miedema to make it 2-0 in the 44th minute. She also glanced a header wide from a cross a few minutes prior to that.

Catley, who put in a full shift, took a short corner and lofted a ball for Miedema to head home the fourth goal in the 68th minute.

Simon started and played 64 minutes for Spurs.

Emily Gielnik scored Aston Villa’s second goal to round out a 2-0 win over Leicester City on Sunday.

Gielnik came on in the 70th minute and worked a nice one-two with Kenza Dali before firing a low shot in which goalkeeper Kirstie Levell couldn’t stop.

Sam Kerr failed to score for the second straight game as Chelsea got past Hayley Raso and Mary Fowler‘s Manchester City 2-0.

Kerr was too unselfish early, squaring when in on goal for Fran Kirby whose tame shot was blocked. Raso was a 79th minute sub for City, while Fowler remained unused. Alanna Kennedy was absent due to a thigh injury.

Mackenzie Arnold had a tough shift as West Ham United lost 2-0 at home to Manchester United.

The Matildas goalkeeper had some hairy moments when given little space from corners, while she made a good late save to tip over Katie Zelem’s shot.

Jacynta Galabadaarachchi was among the scorers again as Celtic won 3-0 at Aberdeen in the Scottish Women’s Premier League.

75' – YASSSSSS! Jacynta unleashes a powerful shot from the edge of the box, get in Celtic!👊

Lydia Williams was demoted to the bench as PSG won 2-1 over Fleury 91 in the French Feminine Division 1 on Sunday.

Emily van Egmond put in a full shift as San Diego Wave fought back from two goals down to draw 2-2 at Orlando Pride in the USA’s NWSL.
