Harry Souttar produced another strong display with 88 minutes for relegated Leicester City who ended their Champoinship campaign with a 1-0 win at Blackburn Rovers on Saturday.
Souttar was rated 8/10 by Leicester Mercury who wrote: “Another impressive outing from the big defender, and another reminder of what City have missed this season.
“He stepped out from the back to intercept, won headers inside the box, made himself a set-piece threat, and put one in fine recovery tackle.”
Mohamed Toure continued his goal scoring in Norwich City’s 2-1 loss to playoffs-bound Hull City.
Toure opened the scoring in the 26th minute, rifling home a right-foot volley from inside the box, taking his tally to nine goals from 11 league games with three assists since his January move from Denmark.
Nestory Irankunda put in a full shift in attack as Watford were downed 4-0 at home by champions Coventry City.
Irankunda almost scored a few times, rounding the goalkeeper before an effort from a tight angle was hacked off the line, before soon after hitting the post. He also flashed a second-half chance for a consolation wide.
Riley McGree was a half-time substitute and made an impact in Middlesbrough’s 2-2 draw at Wrexham. Boro are now destined for the playoffs where they’ll face Southampton.
McGree was rated 7/10 by Teesside Live who wrote: “Made a real difference in the second half, finding pockets and space and influencing the game in Boro’s favour.” Sam Silvera went unused.
Hayden Matthews played 71 minutes for Portsmouth in their 1-1 draw with Birmingham City, while Adrian Segecic scored again. Thomas Waddingham got a 20-minute cameo off the bench.
Matthews was rated 7/10 by The News who wrote: “Confident display from the Australian for a second successive start.
“Involved in the build up for Segecic’s opener, yet on other occasions was a bit sloppy in possession. A disappointing season, but will take heart from his last two outings.”
Daniel Bennie started and played 85 minutes in QPR’s 3-0 loss at promoted Ipswich Town, while Kealey Adamson was unused on the bench.
Soceroos defender Cameron Burgess played a full game in Swansea City’s 3-0 triumph over Charlton Athletic.
