In pre-season friendlies, Marco Tilio is back at Celtic, starting and playing the first half in a 3-2 loss to Estrela Amadora where he set up the opener.

The Socceroo laid off the pass for Celtic’s first goal, finding space on the right side and firing a ball across the box, which was converted by Reo Hatate.

The appearance was a rare one for Tilio, who hasn’t played for Celtic competitively since November 2023.

Tilio’s future at Celtic remains unclear with Melbourne City still hopeful he’ll re-join them. It’s understood Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers is assessing Tilio during this pre-season.

Celtic remain in Portugal and face Sporting on Wednesday night where Tilio may get another opportunity to impress. They also have high-profile friendlies against Como and Newcastle United to come.
