Sam Kerr grabbed an assist after coming on at half-time in Chelsea’s 3-0 win away to Brighton & Hove Albion in the English Women’s Super League on Sunday.
Kerr was a 46th minute substitute with the Blues up 1-0 at the interval, and her presence led to the 51st minute own goal from Caitlin Hayes as they tried to thwart the Aussie from reaching a cross.
The Matildas star almost scored from a tight angle, with her firm shot saved by the Brighton keeper.
Kerr’s 73rd minute cutback from the left side of the box found Alyssa Thompson to rifle home.
Ellie Carpenter played the full game at right-back, going on a trademark run down the flank to create an early chance for Sandy Baltimore which forced a good save.
The result ended Chelsea’s three-game winless WSL run and leaving them six points behind leaders Manchester City.
Charlize Rule was a 67th minute sub for the Seagulls.
Caitlin Foord and Kyra Cooney-Cross both played rare full games while Steph Catley started and played 82 minutes in Arsenal’s 3-1 win at Everton.
