Matildas winger Hayley Raso will play her club football in Germany this season after sealing a permanent switch away from Tottenham to Eintracht Frankfurt.
The 30-year-old forward has inked a two-year deal with the German Frauen-Bundesliga outfit, who finished third in last season’s 12-team league.
Raso could play in top level European competition this term, with Eintracht’s third-place finish earning qualification for the 2025-26 Champions League third round qualifiers.
Raso made 16 appearances for Spurs in the 2024-25 season after moving across from Real Madrid in Spain. She didn’t play at all after March due to a quad injury. The 99-cap Matilda’s only goal for Tottenham came in her debut.
Raso said: “I had very good talks with the people in charge here at Eintracht. I like the club and the city very much. The German Bundesliga is one of the top leagues in women’s football and a place where I want to be.
“After stints in the USA, Spain and England, I will now get to know German football for the first time. I’m very happy to be here and get started. I hope that I can help the team with my national and international experience and contribute my strengths.”
Eintracht Head coach Niko Arnautis added: “Hayley is a very strong attacking player with a high level of aggressiveness and explosiveness in her game, but also against the ball.
“They can play both centrally and on the flanks in attack and thus also give us more options tactically.
“With her international experience, Hayley will also be able to give a lot to our young players. Not least because of her, we now have a very good mix of experience and talent in the team.”

Matildas centre-back Alanna Kennedy is also on the move, landing a return to England’s Women’s Super League after six months in USA with Angel City.
Kennedy has signed with ambitious newly-promoted London City Lionesses, having previously played in the WSL with Manchester City and Tottenham.
Kennedy said: “I’m really excited to be part of such an amazing club with great impressions. I can’t wait to meet everyone and get the season started.
“I’m excited to be part of such a historic season for the club. The ambitions of the club and what they want to do – win trophies and titles – as a player that’s what you want to do.
“It’s something that is going to take time to build, I’m excited to be a part of the early stages of this project and hopefully we can have a lot of success this season.”
