Mary Fowler dazzled in the English Women’s Super League on Sunday with a goal and an assist in Manchester City’s 2-0 win over Katrina Gorry’s West Ham United.
In the 10th minute, Fowler assisted Lauren Hemp’s goal, receiving the ball on the edge of box but under heavy pressure with four defenders around her.
Despite that, Fowler held it up and popped out a pass into space where Hemp swooped and scored.

Elsewhere, Clare Hunt scored her maiden goal for Tottenham who were beaten 3-2 by Liverpool, but the defender’s assured display won over plenty of admirers too.
Hunt had made it 2-2 in the 83rd minute, drilling in a deflected shot after pushing forward, before Maria Hobinger’s 95th minute penalty won it for the Reds.
Hunt played a full game while Hayley Raso also started but was replaced after 92 minutes. Charlotte Grant went unused, while Teagan Micah was absent for Liverpool.

Steph Catley returned from injury and almost combined with Caitlin Foord for a late winner as Arsenal were held to a 0-0 draw by Everton.
Catley came on in the 77th minute, while Foord was introduced in the 64th minute. The pair combined late, with Catley’s left-flank cross drifting through to Foord, whose shot was tipped by keeper Courtney Brosnan on to the woodwork.
Kyra Cooney-Cross started and played 78 minutes, drilling an early chance wide. Clare Wheeler put in a full shift for the Toffees.

Courtney Nevin was an unused substitute in Leicester City’s 2-0 home loss to Crystal Palace.
Cortnee Vine’s North Carolina Courage came out on top against Emily van Egmond’s San Diego Wave 2-1 in the USA’s NWSL on Saturday.
Vine was injected as a 78th minute substitute and could’ve put the game to bed, when she was released in behind the Wave defence at 2-0.
The Matildas flyer took two touches to take her inside the box, before unleashing a left-foot shot which was blocked by the San Diego keeper.
A few minutes later Vine showed brilliant composure down the right side of the box, wrong footing her marker to find space on the byline to cut back for Manaka Matsukubo who should’ve scored but skied her close-range attempt.
Van Egmond played a full game for San Diego while Kaitlyn Torpey was a 70th minute substitute.
Elsewhere in the NWSL, Mackenzie Arnold missed Portland Thorns’ 2-1 loss to Utah Royals due to injury.
Portland head coach Rob Gale said: “At the end of training, she felt something yesterday, then we spoke to her, and she felt it was OK.
“It was one of those that we thought she’d be OK, but she woke up this morning and still felt some discomfort.”
In France’s Premiere Ligue, Ellie Carpenter started and played 77 minutes in Olympique Lyon’s 4-0 win over Montpellier.
Sarah Hunter was an 81st minute substitute for Paris FC in a 1-0 defeat to St Etienne.
In Sweden’s Damallsvenskan, Jada Whyman played a full game in AIK’s 1-1 draw at Orebro.
Newly retired Matildas defender Clare Polkinghorne put in a full shift while Remy Siemsen started and played 84 minutes in Kristianstad’s 2-1 loss to Rosengard.
In the Dutch Eredivisie Women, Daniela Galic was an unused sub for Twente’s 0-0 draw with PSV.
