Jordan Bos got the assist for Feyenoord’s opening goal and was vital to their second in their 2-1 win over Excelsior in the Dutch Eredivisie on Sunday.
Bos laid off the pass for Ayase Ueda to make it 1-1 in the 58th minute and then played a key role in the go-ahead goal.
The Socceroo found space and time down the left flank, allowing him to whip in a cross which found Ueda who poked home on the volley.
One minute later, Bos tracked down and won the ball as Excelsior advanced into the box, with Feyenoord scoring from the ensuing counter-attack through Ueda.
Ajdin Hrustic had an assist scrubbed out for offside in last-placed Heracles’ 4-0 loss away to AZ.
Hrustic played the full 90 while Rhys Bozinovski started and played the first half.
Max Balard put in a full shift as NAC Breda’s relegation worries worsened with a 6-0 loss at Go Ahead Eagles.
Garang Kuol was an 86th minute substitute for Sparta Prague but missed out on the scoring action in their 5-2 win over Slovacko in the Czech Chance Liga.
Nestory Irankunda fired in Watford’s only goal in stunning style with a superb long-range effort in their 3-1 loss away to Stoke City in England’s Championship.
The goal was Irankunda’s third of the Championship season and first since August when scored twice in two games.
The 20-year-old winger has provided three assists this term along with his three goals.
On Saturday, he came on in the 61st minute and got the goal to drag Watford back into the contest at 2-1, unleashing a rocket for his goal.
Riley McGree started and played 59 minutes in Middlesbrough’s 1-1 draw with Bristol City.
McGree was rated 6/10 by Gazette Live, who wrote: “With Boro struggling for their usual conviction in possession in the first half, McGree struggled to have his usual impact. Boro didn’t manage to get him on the ball enough.”
Daniel Bennie was a 95th minute sub for QPR in their 3-1 win at Leicester City. Kealey Adamson was unused.
In League One, Alex Robertson netted a spectacular goal for Cardiff City in their 4-0 win at Exeter City.
Robertson, who started and played 71 minutes in midfield, worked a neat one-two before he curled in from just outside the box for 3-0 in the 68th minute.
Jackson Irvine played the full 90 in St Pauli’s 2-0 defeat at Borussia Moenchengladbach in the German Bundesliga.
Connor Metcalfe was an 88th minute substitute for St Pauli.
Alessandro Circati put in a full shift in Parma’s 4-1 loss away to Torino in the Italian Serie A.
Paul Izzo kept a clean sheet in Randers’ 3-0 victory away to Fredericia in the Danish Superliga.
Jack Iredale started and played 61 minutes, replaced by Martin Boyle – who won a penalty only for it to be overturned by the VAR – in Hibernian’s frustrating 0-0 draw with Livingston in the Scottish Premiership.
