Martin Boyle produced a dazzling display including scoring Hibernian’s second goal in a 2-0 win away to Rangers in the Scottish Premiership.
Boyle started and played 85 minutes in the victory, receiving a 9/10 rating from Edinburgh Evening News for his performance.
Edinburgh Evening News wrote: “Jefte didn’t seem to know where the winger was half the time, such were the hoops Boyle was making him jump through.
“Off the ball work tremendous. A real focal point-style performance and deserved his goal.”
Boyle got his reward with a 69th minute goal to make it 2-0, getting in behind the Rangers’ defence on the halfway line for a hopeful pass forward, before converting under the keeper.
The goal was initially ruled out for offside, but VAR intervened, setting off wild celebrations.
Lewis Miller put in a full shift and earned a 7/10 rating: “Played on the right of a three man defence. Pace and power was key to halting an attack-heavy Rangers team.”
Jack Iredale also played the full game and was rated 7/10: “Some great long range passes. Neat and tidy stuff.”
Nectar Triantis put in a full shift in midfield was earned a 7/10: “When engine room looked to be getting overrun a touch. He stepped in to halt that happening. Forced Rangers to go long.”
Cameron Burgess played a full game and earned a 6/10 rating from East Anglian Daily Times as Ipswich Town edged closer to the drop after a 2-1 home loss to 17th-placed Wolverhampton in the English Premier League.
Jackson Irvine played a full game while Connor Metcalfe was a 74th minute substitute in St Pauli’s 1-1 home draw with Borussia Moenchengladbach in Germany’s Bundesliga on Saturday.
Mat Ryan kept another clean sheet for Lens in their 1-0 home victory over Saint-Etienne in France’s Ligue 1.

Irankunda was through one-on-one before his effort was thwarted, only to fall to Adama Bojang for the opening goal. Irankunda was busy throughout but couldn’t get on the scoresheet.
Craig Goodwin scored for the first time since January as Al Wehda were beaten 3-1 at home by Al Shabab in the Saudi Arabian Pro League on Sunday.
John Iredale scored one goal and provided the pass for another in Seoul E-Land’s 3-0 home win over Cheonan City in Korea’s K League 2.
The Australian forward got the assist for Euller’s 45th-minute opener, before sliding home at the back post for his side’s second in the 48th minute.
Iredale has now scored three times for Seoul across five games since moving to Korea from Danish club AaB.
